Without a DSDT for this board, I finally got the Audio to work using VoodooHDA 2.7.2 and I installed the modified AppleHDA.kext 2.13.
I have restarted this 5 times now and no KPs have occurred.
I tried using the VoodooHDA 2.7.3 and got a panic everytime, even with the modified AppleHDA.kext 2.13 or the AppleHDA Rollback, that some people have said stopped the KPs on the H3/7.

Did you try my DSDT? Did it help?
Cinlortech I dont know how to do DSDT edits yet, but am learning!
I am using integrated HDMI. yes please upload the DSDT.ami file.
I dont see the link from toledo?
thanks.
If you want I can post my install instructions for 10.8 on the SH67
gatd – I uploaded the DSDT.aml file with some edits already done:
1. DTGP
2. HDEF
Here is the link for the DSDT http://www.osx86.net/cat/14-dsdt.html
There are a few additional edits that need to be done. I used the DSDTSE application for creating this DSDT and editing it.
If you go to olarila.com there is help there for adding the patches.
Here is a link on how to create a DSDT http://legacy.tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=35559 This page also provides a link for the DSDTSE app.
Here is the link to Toledo’s guide for HDMI Audio
There are 3 parts to this and 6 guides. This guide says its for Lion, but Toledo says it will work for Mountain Lion also.
Instructions for installing Mountain Lion would be great. If you would put it in a doc or txt file, I will copy & paste in a post and credit you for the guide.
v1 MB multibeat 4.6.1
gatd – I do have an unpatched DSDT for the V1 MB with BIOS v. 116.
I assume you are running the 116 BIOS version? Will you be able to do the DSDT edits? Are you using the integrated HDMI Audio or HDMI off a graphics card? There are instructions from Toledo on the tonymacx forum on how to do the edits for this. If you are interested I will upload the unpatched DSDT.aml file.
gatd, would you mind telling what you did (and possibly didn’t) install in order to get the sound working. I haven’t had any luck following the aforementioned link, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
i had the default AppleHDA
then in multi beast
1 Select: Drivers & Bootloaders/Kexts & Enablers/Audio/Realtek ALC8xx//Patched AppleHDA/ALC888_ALC888_v100302
2 Select: Drivers & Bootloaders/Kexts & Enablers/Audio/Realtek ALC8xx/Non-DSDT HDAEnabler/ALC888
thats all
i am on 10.8
but no hdmi
Thanks for the quick reply. I’m afraid it doesn’t work for me at all (I’m on 10.8 as well). It only lists ALC888 as a device in System Information, but no further information. Also, I can’t then select it as an output.
Ah well, I’ll just keep on looking. Thanks so much though.
john I dont see ALC888 as a device in system profile. I see Intel High Definition Audio.Do a clean install,I have mine set up as a mac mini in SMbios and just add the two file I posted earlierps voodoo 2.7.2 also works but gave KPs 20% of the time on boot but when loaded worked OK but noisy.
gatd – Do you have the V2 motherboard that supports Ivy Bridge or the Sandy Bridge only motherboard? Also, what version of MultiBeast are you using?
Yes, you’re right, it is Intel High Definition Audio. When I click on that it just list ALC888. I have tried the voodoo kext but I similarly got KPs.
I also have a v1 motherboard. I’ll play around with it some more. Thanks for the tip.
I sort off managed to get internal speakers works 2 ch only but have tried many things now lost.
I would like the 7.1 HDMI and optical to work.
I have got most other things now working on ML.
gatd – Have you tried toledo’s newest ALC888 kexts? I see this is for 10.7.4, but might work with 10.8. Have a look at this link.
ok I can get audio working now thanks, but it is not complete. Are there any DSDT’s for this shuttle?
gatd – Did you get the audio working with Toledo’s ALC888 kext? What isn’t complete? As far as I know, there is no DSDT for the H3V2, BIOS v. 202 yet. Could you share with the others what you used to get the audio working?
I have managed to get 10.8 working with everything but the audio!
any help please
Hi gatd – Can you tell me what you have tried for the Audio, so I don’t make suggestions that didn’t work for you.
Just wondering if you still haven’t had an kernel panics since you got this going, and if you haven’t if you could share what you did differently to avoid the KP on startup. Thanks.
John – Sorry for the late reply, I quit using the VoodooHDA temporarily, as I’m trying to find a way to get the native ALC888 working. I created a DSDT for the H3, but now need to figure out how to patch it and make it all work.
