Is there a reason that I would need to upgrade to V2? Does all existing hardware function with the V2 motherboard?
Only if you want to upgrade the processor to Ivy Bridge.
Yes the V2 board is backwards compatible.
Hello I got a change of my version 1.0 Board into a version 2.0 for 50€ at the Shuttle Support. But only after a lot communitation with the support. Reason: my mainboard had an defect, -> replacement + upgrade to v2.0 was possible for the 50€ charge. But I don’t see a directe way to order an replacement board. So custumors in the US have at the moment more benefits and support.
Tip or all: ask the shuttle support direct for an upgrade offer and the pay costs
Is this going to be available anywhere in Europe or even better in the UK? If it is for sale on its own then I would be interested in getting one.
It should be available from any Shuttle reseller in Europe or the UK. We can only offer it to US based customers.
I made an enquiry with a UK company well known for selling Shuttle computers and was told it wasn’t available and even if it was, it would probably be nearly as expensive as buying the unit again! $99 is a great deal if that is the case, I understand why you only ship to the USA, just a shame other people around the world won’t sell it.
Well, that is really strange that Shuttle USA makes it available and they don’t. Maybe, you have relatives or friends here in the US you can make arrangements with that can bypass Customs being a private party.
Hello I have received my IVY V2.0 Board from the Shuttle Support in Germany Europe. But if sell/ship the v2.0 board additional to Europe I will buy one as spare kit.
Sebastian – Sorry, only sell/ship to US customers. Dealing with Customs was a nightmare in the past.
