Shuttle SH67H3 Ivy Bridge – Lion

May 25, 2012

I have some new SH67H3 Ivy Bridge models on the way.

Once they get here, I’m going to take one and install Lion on it.

Here are the specs I’m going to use:

Intel Core i5-3570K
8 GB DDR3 1333 Memory
2-Seagate Momentus XT 500GB Hybrid 2.5″ SSD/HDD
LG 22X Super Multi Dual Layer DVD +/- RW
Graphics Card – still undecided

I’ve read some great reviews on the Seagate Momentus XT Hybrid drives, so I thought I would get some and test it out.  I’ve read they boot and apps are as fast as a full SSD drive and you have 500 GB of storage space.  Sounds like we get the best of both worlds and it’s less expensive than a full Solid State Drive.

I have created a DSDT for the version 1 board, which I haven’t shared yet.  But I will have to create a new one for the new version 2 board.  I’m hoping since the new v 2 board actually has HDEF instead of Azalia, I’ll be able to get native sound and possibly fix the shut down problem with the NEC/Renasas USB 3.0 driver installed.

I will post complete instructions on how I installed this and if the DSDT works well, I will upload it for anyone to use.

Stay tuned gang, good things are coming, hopefully a perfect H3 hackintosh.
